Auburn Avenue Research Library, Atlanta GA

An extension of the Atlanta-Fulton Public Library system, the Auburn Avenue Research Library houses more than 35,000 books and 600 manuscripts, along with artifacts, recordings, oral histories, periodicals, photographs and other items, that chronicle African American history, in particularly Atlanta’s Sweet Auburn neighborhood. Literary holdings include pieces by Harlem Renaissance writers. The library is home to hundreds of pieces of African and African American artwork. It also offers lectures, workshops and other programs.
