National Black Theatre, New York, NY

Located on the dividing line between East and West Harlem, the National Black Theatre or NBT was the country’s first revenue-generating black theater arts facility when it first opened its doors in 1968. Performances are based on a black technique of acting that incorporates seemingly disparate elements of the African Diaspora experience such as Pentecostal worship and African ritual, percussive music, singing and dancing. The complex is also full of spaces which you can rent for events, workshops, wedding receptions, banquets, concerts and much more.
