Scott Joplin House, St. Louis, MO
“Maybe fifty years after I’m dead my music will be appreciated.”
- Scott Joplin, 1915
The famous ragtime composer lived in this house for only two years, but they were probably the two most productive years of his career. He composed such famous works as “The Sting,” “The Lost Opera,” “Elite Syncopations,” and “A Guest of Honor” on a grand piano similiar to the one sitting in the house’s parlor today.
