Tampa Bay Black Heritage Festival | Tampa, FL

| Designed to promote cultural sensitivity and highlight diversity, the Tampa Bay Black Heritage Festival embarks on its 10th Anniversary January 14 – 23, 2010. The 10-day family friendly event typically begins the week before the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday and features a unique blend of African and African American art, culture and history. |
This year’s signature events include:
- Heritage Gala (Jan. 15th at the Moroccan Palace, Busch Gardens), a chic soiree that includes live jazz over hors d’oeuvres, a cocktail reception in the Nairobi Gardens followed by a private viewing of “KaTonga: Musical Tales From the Heart of Africa.”
- Heritage Street Festival (Jan. 16th-17th), a two-day weekend event featuring local and national speakers, musicians, poets, authors, artists, craftsmen, and food vendors.
